Warm-up/Anticipatory Set:
Self-Start:
1. Turn in homework. (You need to look through some of the student homework and select a few students to present to the class.)
2. Have a media example visible and have students write 5 questions they can ask about the media.
Instruction/Main Activity:
Show the class some media examples and show economic facts about the examples. (Cost for production, cost for distribution) As a class discuss the importance for good project planning in reference to the cost of production. Ask questions that will help emphasize the connection to money well spent.
Examples. Why do corporations spend so much money on advertising? Why is Thursday night the biggest night in television? What commercial, poster, or billboard they remember? Use the answers to transition into the expectation of the real world for good project planning when good money is being spent. Students need to complete the worksheet. (A2)
