| Materials Needed: | Access to computers and MySpace website or other school options. (my IT guys created a page for me to use with my students since MySpace is blocked here.) |
Lesson Directions
Warm-up/Anticipatory Set:
Ask who has set up a MySpace or Facebook or any other type of social networking site? What type of information do you have on your site? What is your purpose for having this site? Today well will begin setting up MySpace accounts for the characters in Cyrano. You will choose a character that seems interesting to you because he/she has a main part in the story or because he/she doesn’t. You will create an account for him/her.
Instruction/Main Activity:
Pass out the handout. Discuss the requirements. Remind them that the story took place in 1897. So that time period should be reflected in their pages. Also, wit, poetry, courage, and honor were important values. Send students to the lab to begin their setups.
Assignment:
Create MySpace page for a character.
